This article is a school perspective on students in grief. It has some good reminders: http://theapple.monster.com/benefits/articles/1927-how-to-help-your-students-deal-with-grief-and-loss

  1. One great thing to do is to sit down with your outlook, iphone, calendar (whatever you use to schedule your life) and set up some future dates NOW that you are going to intentionally interact with them. With our student who lost his brother last year, I set up a year's worth of dates, stuff like: send a text today; write a card today; take out to lunch today. It's been huge and it helps me not to forget.
